Stage 700

Theater at Bethlehem Central High School

Theatre Without a Net (TWON) will perform Sunflowers a new play about the life of artist Vincent Van Gogh this December.

TWON is thrilled to announce that Sunflowers, a new play about the life of Vincent Van Gogh, written by Amy Roos, will perform live December 8th - 11th, 2022. Sunflowers tells the story of the last ten years of Van Gogh's life, from when he first picked up a paintbrush and began his life as an artist, until his untimely death at 37 years old.

Van Gogh lived a complicated and often heartbreaking existence. He struggled to find work and maintain relationships, he suffered from mental illness, was institutionalized, and was completely reliant on his brother Theo's financial support. Yet despite his personal challenges, he wanted to be known as someone who loved deeply. He desperately wanted to leave something beautiful to the world. Perhaps then, he would feel his life was worth something.

This story is for anyone who loves art and wants to better understand the love, passion, and struggle that it takes to create it.

Stage 700 will perform Mama Mia! March 30 - April 2, 2023.

Mama Mia! tells the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This upbeat tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

ABBA's timeless songs propel this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget!

Auditions will take place in early 2023. Stay tuned!

A Message about conflicts: There have been a significantly high number of conflicts given to us to work around during show time. We try to work around conflicts when possible but it has become increasingly harder and harder to schedule rehearsals. In preparation for this year, know that a typical rehearsal schedule begins as early as 2:30 (music and dance) and often as late as 6:30 on Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri and on Saturdays we typically rehearse 10:30 - 2:00. Rehearsal schedules are posted one week in advance or more and you will likely not be called for all rehearsals. Please try to schedule your conflicts after 6:00 or 6:30 pm.

When we are rehearsing a show, we need these rehearsals to be the priority and you will need to schedule your other rehearsals, classes, work, etc. around this schedule. We will do the best we can to work around approved conflicts at the time of your audition such as college auditions, and SAT's. No conflicts (minus approved exceptions) will be accepted in our last three weeks including tech and performances 3/13 - 4/2.

We wanted to give you the heads up well in advance so that you can make decisions now for the coming year.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Thank you to everyone who came to join us for Les Misérables! It was amazing to listen to a live orchestra and hear live singing for the first time since 2019. We were thrilled to be able to share our production with an audience again. Stay tuned for details on next year's show. For now, feel free to follow us on our Instagram account @bcstage700
